Pierre Jaquet-Droz will always be known for his mechanical masterpiece that astounded the world -- the automatons crafted in 1774 that still works exquisitely to date. Along with his sons Henri-Louis and Jean-Frederic Leschot, they established a similar expertise in the world of haute horlogerie with a collection of spellbinding jewelry timepieces such as the Jaquet Droz La Fleur Du Temps. Launched in 1785 for the most elegant of women, the collection consists of three models crafted from 18k white gold with a lacquered dial bedecked with diamonds, spessartines, or pearls. The exquisite dial design notwithstanding, inside the Jaquet Droz La Fleur Du Temps 39mm case beats an automatic movement. The off-centered dial is located at the upper portion of the face to further highlight the exquisite gems designed to serve as a backdrop to the time indicator. Limited to only 8pcs per model, the Jaquet Droz La Fleur Du Temps stays true to its name which literally translates to "the flower of time".
