The establishment of Zenith SA in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot was a game changer in the industry of haute horlogerie with its revolutionary concept of modern manufacture. In commemoration of this pioneering spirit, the Zenith Academy Christophe Colomb was released in 2010 as a nod to the adventures of the legendary Italian explorer. There had been several interpretations over the years, all of which centered on its main feature: the self -regulating gravity control escapement protected by a bubble of sapphire crystal and kept horizontal at all times with the gimbal suspension system. The Zenith Academy Christophe Colombs astonishing mechanism is accompanied by a host of other functions including a power reserve display, Fus�e-chain transmission, and equation of time. Driven by an automatic movement, the Zenith Academy Christophe Colomb is presented in a 45mm gold or platinum case.
