Since the very beginning of its existence in Villeret, Switzerland in 1735, Blancpain enjoyed tremendous success with their mechanical watches. Founded by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, the watchmaking company believes in the automatic mechanism so much that they declared there will never be a quartz Blancpain watch. It is not surprising therefore that the Blancpain Orchidee is powered by an automatic mechanism. Built from a 34mm polished white gold case, it is quite a vision to look at with its partial diamond bezel and the harmonious and very legible dial. The Blancpain Orchidee displays hours and minutes through applied Roman numerals that surround a beautiful mother of pearl dial center and also features calendar and moonphase complications. Functional and a delight to the eyes, the Blancpain Orchidee is clearly a result of constant innovation and centuries of watchmaking experience.
