Jacob Arabo began producing jewelry under the Jacob & Co. name in 1986. His designs attracted stars in the entertainment industry. In the 1990s, Mr. Arabo's clientele included Jay-Z, Elton John, David Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, and Pharrell. In 2002, Jacob & Co. debuted the Five Time Zone watch. Inspired by a dual time zone watch Mr. Arabo received when he was 13, the Five Time Zone became an instant success among celebrities including Bono and Derek Jeter. Although it used quartz movements, the watch catapulted Jacob & Co. into the watch industry. The founding of Jacob & Co. SA in 2007 broke the brand into high horology. Its first complicated piece, the Quenttin, featured a vertical tourbillon and 31 day power reserve. The company launched the Astronomia Collection at Baselworld in 2014. Introduced in 2015, the Billionaire watch is set with 260 carats worth of individual 3 carat diamonds, warranting an 18 million dollar price. Since its breakthrough into high horology, Jacob & Co. watches have remained in demand through the company's partnerships with iconic athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and companies like Bugatti and Paramount Pictures.
The '5 Time Zone' Collection is still seen, the totally unique 'Quentin', the 'World GMT' and limited edition jeweled 'Tourbillon' watches.
