The world of horology is a highly discriminating one, so much so that "perfect" isn't an adjective you'd just throw around carelessly. One can't be blamed however if the object in question is the A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Up and Down. It also hardly matters whether its the 18k yellow/white/rose gold version or the platinum one. To begin with, each watch is equipped with a manual winding mechanical movement. Earlier models sized at 36mm has a power reserve of 45 hours while recent versions at 39mm can run up to 72 hours before it needs rewinding. As the name implies, the A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Up and Down features an Auf/Aub power reserve indicator at 8 o'clock and small seconds at 4 o'clock along with an hour and minute hands on the main dial. A work of art and mechanical ingenuity, the perfection that is A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Up and Down is completed with a supple leather wristband.
