Built in London in 1822 by Edouard Bovet, the watchmaking firm is known to give free reign to artisans, expressing time using only the finest of materials and the most exquisite detailing. Almost two centuries later, this tradition continued on with the introduction of its sub-brand, Bovet Dimier in 2007. Encased in 18k gold, platinum, or titanium with a sapphire cabochon crown, all of the watches in this collection exude old world elegance. Ranging in size from 40mm to 48mm, most Bovet Dimier sports an open worked design, with serpentine or blued steel hands, and a "lotus" inspired tourbillon mechanism. Depending on the model, an automatic or hand-wound movement enlivens the face and the various indicators -- power reserve, day/night, big date, 24 cities, second time zone, and moon phase. With its impeccable design and superb precision, the Bovet Dimier is a highly sought-after masterpiece.
