In 1946, Georges Dubey and René Schaldenbrand founded Dubey and Schaldenbrand in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. From a young age, the Swiss-born Georges Dubey dedicated his life to watchmaking. He was originally a master watchmaker and professor at the famous watchmaking school in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Together with René Schaldenbrand, another skilled Swiss watchmaker, Dubey introduced split-seconds chronograph wristwatch movements under the Index-Mobile name. The revival of the company in 1995 can be owed to the movement collection of Cinette Robert. Dubey and Schaldenbrand recased these movements to bring to market new watches under its historical name.
