In 2004, Romain Jerome stunned the luxury watchmaking industry with his "DNA of Famous Legends" concept - acquiring pieces of the Titanic, moon dust, or volcanic ash all the way from Iceland and incorporating these into their watches. This time, with the Romain Jerome Liberty DNA, they didnt have to go far. A salute to the Statue of Liberty - a gift to the Americans by the French - the watch case is a 46mm black PVD steel with a bronze bezel designed to look like the statues crown. Below the "crown" is the dial containing actual oxidized copper from the statue, giving it a hue of aqua green. The Romain Jerome Liberty DNAs caseback shows an engraved torch and flame and what ticks behind is an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. Featuring hours and minutes only, the Romain Jerome Liberty DNA is a touching nod to the iconic landmark that represents freedom and democracy.
