Consumer Products, and to commemorate the 75th anniversary of one of historyâ??s most celebrated superheroes, Swiss luxury watch designer RJ-Romain Jerome has created the Batman-DNA, a timepiece aesthetically inspired by director Christopher Nolanâ??s â??The Dark Knightâ?? movie trilogy. Released with a limited-edition quantity of 75 pieces, the Batman-DNA is one of Romain Jeromeâ??s creations in his â??Collaborations,â?? a line involving other historic and well-loved generational icons like Tetris, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Delorean. The Batman-DNA watch emulates several defining aspects in the world of Batman. The dark, dangerous atmosphere of Gotham City is evident in the watchâ??s overall monochrome black appearance, and its 46-mm monochrome black steel case with a PVD coating and both polished and satin-brushed bezel, made to be angled and edgy, clearly bring to mind Batmanâ??s sleek and insurmountable vehicle with which he zips through the streets of Gotham, the iconic Batmobile. The centerpiece in the form of the Bat-Signal logo applique is filled with black matte lacquer. It is a fitting, eye-catching focal point that stands out with the help of its engraving that Romain Jerome has cleverly crafted to achieve a graphite effect with Superluminova C1, which appears black and homogenizes with the dial during the day, but glows with an enigmatic and luminous blue in the dark. A polished RJ logo sits on the upper part of the dial that has taken on the appearance of a largely rough, cracked surface, just one of the many intricate, complementing details on the Batman-DNA watch. The same Superluminova C1 substance that makes up the engraving is also present on the tips of the metallic black hour and minute hands, rendered by the operations of finest Swiss, automatic self-winding movements contained inside the case. Not to be overlooked, the back of the case features a Batman logo medallion as well, and right underneath it are digits indicating the unit number out of all 75 limited edition pieces. The Batman-DNA watch attaches to the wrist with a Black Hornback crocodile strap, an aptly textured and elegant choice.
